Our Vision:

A generation of men well-balanced in body, mind and soul, healed from their wounds, living their lives with integrity and resiliency, and who maintain healthy, meaningful relationships with family, friends and community.

To this end, we stand on three pillars of service:

Male-Centred Therapy:

Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.”
Marcus Aurelius

You may wonder what male-centred therapy is. In therapy language, we define it as the approach of human service delivery that employs the subjective experience of men as a primary means of understanding and facilitating therapeutic change. What this means is we rely on therapeutic approaches that speak to the new psychology of masculinity. We also contribute to this field of psychology in our publications and training.

Expertise in Trauma:

“Scar tissue is stronger than regular tissue. Realize the strength, move on.”
Henry Rollins

We know that many men carry wounds from the past.  Family dysfunction.  Addiction issues. Absent father figures. Domestic violence.  Physical and sexual abuse. Despite best efforts to keep these wounds hidden, they invariably accompany us in our adult lives. Polarized thinking. Emotional distance. Issues of anger and rage. Inconsistency in relationships.

These memories don’t fade with time, but therapy can make the pain diminish. To this end, we have two evidence-based studies that support the success of our treatment model. This expertise is embedded in all our programs — individual therapy and our group services.

Emotional integrity:

“Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”
C.S. Lewis

Emotional integrity is more than a notion. Integrity requires our thoughts, feelings and behaviour to be in alignment. Here is another way of looking at it: living your life and conducting yourself in your personal relationships based on the following three premises:

  • Being honest with yourself.
  • Owning your own feelings and behaviour.
  • Closing the emotional space you hold with others.

If you are drawn to these qualities in your quest for personal change, we want to hear from you!
